Anybody know if you can tell the date of birth of an AR10 by the serial number?

Many items have the date code in the serial number. Example 2nd and 3rd number are the year, 4th and 5th are the month of production. Something like that?

I'm sure Armalite have better things to do than look up serial numbers for folks.

Sorry, no dateing in the serial numbers.

Just a set range of numbers.

I emailed Armalite on time with serial number. All they said was it was post assault weapon ban. or something like that. Maybe I didn't ask the right questions. I'll try again.

May of 1996. No wonder it is turning gray. Thanks Armalite. (Tim)

Anybody know what year they started selling AR10s again?
