I travel for work and have currently been in Argentina for 11 months. over this time I have been catching sales and deals. I currently have all parts sitting at my house (except the lower which is being held at a local FFL) to put together yet another AR.

I am due back home in 2-3 weeks and am looking for a peer check to make sure all has been ordered. This way if I missed something I can get it on the way now.

I am also looking for suggestions / comments on where I may have went right or wrong with parts. I know there is a lot of opinions out here, but I am also going to be building one for my son (few purchases, but mainly with left over parts from previous builds and part swaps) so if I am swayed by an opinion it is not a big deal to reorder something as I would be able to use the replaced parts on the 2nd build.

Seems heavy especially with the scope and red dot, but seems like good stuff to me I'm sure it will run and last. You really just need a sling, I recommend the Magpul MS1 sling with Midwest Industries QD mounts.

Crush washer for muzzle device unless it comes with one.

Geisselle makes beautiful triggers, they break real crisp like snapping a glass rod. But they don't come with antiwalk/antirotation pins. It's not really a necessary part, but some people swear by them, and they do look nice.

Also make sure you have the tools to assemble the rifle. A punch kit os essential for setting all the drift pins, and an ar-15 armorers wrench will help tighten your castle nut without marring the finish. Just a thought, you can always bypass these tools with a little ingenuity.

Possibly
the gas tube and the roll pin for it or does the gas block come with them?

I have the VCAS..good sling.

I thought I read somewhere don't use KNS pins with Geiselle triggers.

As a guy who has a Leupold VX-R1.25-4, I would say that having a separate red dot isn't needed. I can unquestionably use this as a red dot on 1.25x.

Unfortunately i did not think of this before i ordered the delta point. I guess if i find myself not using it i could always move the delta point to another rifle or mount it on a handgun.

are you happy with the vxr?

thanks

Seems to me like you should have just bought a complete Aero rifle. Barring the excessive accessories, did I miss somewhere that you didn't use an Aero part?

Very happy. Fills a more multituse role than my acog or Aimpoint pros.

The original intent was to buy only AP stripped upper and lower, but they threw out some great 4th of July sale i could not pass up. They had good discounts on items and I also got an additional $200 credit on the entire order.

nuke:  Your list is fairly complete, not the parts I would have ordered, but then its your rifle not mine.  Here are a few suggestions for improvement:
-  Consider painting the rest of the parts FDE to match the receivers.  Easy to do with a spray can.
-  My SSA-E has been outfitted with JP Rifles "yellow" springs, which reduces the letoff weight to about 3.5 lbs.  Reliability is not compromised.  Geissele triggers use the same method for securing the pins that milspec triggers do, works like a charm, no special pins required.
-  Once everything is together, check the ejection pattern.  If the rifle is under or overgassed, you can swap out lighter or heavier buffers to get ejection into the correct 3 to 4 oclock range.  Forward of 3 oclock is overgassed, if it doesn't lock back on an empty mag, you are undergassed.  In extreme overgas situations, an adjustable gas block is the cure.
-  Your 15" handguard on a 16" barrel is way too long, IMO.  You won't be able to install/remove your muzzle device without removing the handguard so you can clamp the barrel in your vise, a PITA.  A 12" handguard would be a better choice.
-  If you intend to deploy your rifle for home defense, I suggest you get a combination laser and light, instead of a light only.  Use the light to identify your target (make sure you aren't about to shoot a neighbor or loved one) and a green laser to mark the point of aim in the dark.  Check Streamlight for options.
-  Rail covers on an mlok handguard seem superfluous, but I may be missing something.
- The multiple optics seems like overkill.  I suggest you mount them one at a time:  The scope for outdoor use as at your local rifle range, a red dot for when you feel like practicing CQB and iron sights folded with the laser/light apparatus turned on for responding to a bump in the night

Good luck - CW

I own a pair on a rifle, if it's a normal 5.56 rifle they are not needed, imo.

I'd ditch the irons and run the Delta Point for backup. An MRDS is faster and more capable, esp in low light. Mounted properly it also gives you a very good sight that works well for weak side and difficult positions because it has unlimited eye relief. Additionally, if you are dialed up high and something pops up close, just roll and shoot. So versatile.

I got the rifle assembled today and trying to decide if I should mount the delta point in front of or behind the scope. Trying to figure out which would be more advantageous.

If I mount it behind the scope the irons sights will definitely not be installed. If I mount it on front, even though it will be over kill i will likely install the iron sights just because all my rifles have them. I know they will not be needed or likely used, just a quirk I have i guess.
