I do a few 3gun matches and rifle competitions every year. It's fun and keeps my skills sharp.
I normally use an 18" build for these, but it seems like overkill sometimes on shorter bay matches, which rarely exceed 50 yards.

I decided to build up a 16" lightweight-ish rifle for these games.
I went with the fixed stock so I could easily convert it to California Featureless (Damn commiefornia laws)

I won the handguard a few weeks ago in a rifle match. Pretty good prize for coming in 46th place of 180 people!
I had several parts on hand in my parts bin as well.

I decided to give the Larue MBT trigger a try, as it was only $99 to add on to my order with the barrel. I figured if I didn't like it, I would swap in my Geissele SD3G.
Turns out, it is really nice, so I am going to test it out in a 3gun match next week.

Build is as follows......
Aero Precision Stripped SLick upper and lower
Nordic Components NCT3 XL 15.5" handguard
Larue PredatAR 16" barrel
Precision Armament M4-72 Severe-Duty Compensator
SLR Sentry6 adj gas block
Spikes melonite gas tube
AIM Surplus Lightweight Nitride BCG
CAV Mfg C1 Stock system (A1 length and super light)
Taccom Rifle Recoil System delrin buffer system
Wolf 10% reduced buffer spring
BCM LPK
Strike Industries Extended charging handle (temporary until I order my favorite BCM)
Damage Ind 45* selector
MFT Grip
Holosun Circle Dot with absolute co-witness mount

Took it out yesterday for the first time.
Had to adjust gas and sight in.
Using my light 3gun loads of 22.6gr H335 - 55gr Wolf projectile - Win SRP - LC Brass - 2.245" OAL
Gas took about 5 clicks from closed to run perfect.
Made a small adjustment to the sights and shot this group @ 25yds.

Moved out to 50yds to complete the zero.
This was my overall target of 5round groups.

Decided last night the MFT grip was way too slick, so did a quick stipple job.

I probably won't bother with BUIS on this build. We'll see. If I do I will use Magpul Pros.

I am absolutely loving the Larue barrel.
Finished weight is 6lbs 4oz as seen in the picture.
Recoil impulse with the buffer/spring combo, along with the adj gas and light loads is similar to a 22lr. :)

And reviews like this is why I chose Larue for my barrel.

Is that MFT a 15 degree grip?

BIGHURT, yes 15*.
I like the grip, just felt a little slick for running around with, hence the stippling.

I changed out the stock to an ACE, Joebobs had them on sale recently for a great deal.
I like it a lot.

I've let several people shoot this build in the last few weeks. Everyone is blown away by it.
I see another Larue barrel in my near future :)

I'm sure it'll be awesome Krink!

Here is a vid of shooting it in a match a couple weeks back.
Around the 30 second mark, you can see just how flat shooting this build is.
It is truly remarkable. All 21 rounds were hits. I took an extra because I thought I dropped a shot low, but didn't.
