I like the idea that I can use my airbrush for the Liquid Aluma Hyde.

But can anyone tell me what the thinner is?

Lacquer, Acetone, Paint thinner, Denatured Alcohol, MEK...?

I really don't want to pay $22 for a Qt of something I probably have already.

Thanks everyone

Can't say for sure but the number one ingredient in the spray can is Acetone.  If you have the spray Aluma-Hyde II already, you might try some Acetone and see how it works.  I know soaking a piece of metal that has been sprayed with Aluma-Hyde II in Acetone will break it down over night and allow the Aluma-Hyde II to be rubbed off with steel wool in fairly short order.
