Like the subject says, I am curious about whether or not a forged 7075 80% lower is tougher to drill or machine than a 7075 billet 80%?

I'm no metallurgical genius, but from my short experiences, I can't tell the difference.  6061 and what ever the cast lowers are made of are certainly MUCH softer.

If I were programming a CNC machine to operate at max efficiency, there might be a difference.

I can't tell any difference on a small manual machine. Possible on a high out put machine there would be but for the hobbyist I don't think you can tell.
