Safety operation on several guns I have built is mushy. I would really prefer that they be crisp. Will a stronger spring fix this? Where to get one that is stronger than normal?

you could try stuffing something into the hole in your grip that the spring goes into

it may be too deep and not giving you enough spring pressure

A piece of lead shot would work....good idea...

Bad Ass Ambi Safety Selector  I have changed out two rifles with these and they are such an improvement.  All new builds get these.

Are you saying it does not snap into position??
The only times I have seen selectors that did not snap into place the detent was rounded off or they had the wrong spring.
Too deep a hole in the grip would give similar results.
A bad track on a selector can wipe off the tip of the detent and give a similar result.

It's just not crisp, it's mushy....I know I have the right spring in place....I'm going to try a piece of shot in the pistol grip hole on one of my guns and see what happens.

Screw a small set screw in to the pistol grip hole. The safety in my JP Ez trigger came with one because they claim some pistol grips have to deep of a spring hole.
