Here is a company that sells combat grade parts for sabers, their sound boards are apparently the best in the industry.

https://www.ultrasabers.com/Accessories-s/69.htm

If you have never watched any of the LCC video competition, they are pretty wild, some funny, some realistic. This is the newest competition, the fight inside I was really good.

It would have to be Sith.  Jedi are hide-bound and traditional.  They exist in a stasis based on not letting emotion or attachment in and that leads to stagnation.an aversion to change, even if that change is healthy and could make things better.

Jedi would be all about blued steel and wood, tube magazines and thudy-thuddies...

How did I polish it? If that's what you mean I chucked it up on the lathe with a piece of notebook paper wrapped around the part that the lathe chucks held. Then I started sanding with 220 all the way to 1000grt.

Sorry, but the crystals MUST be red - Sith Red. There can only be one path, and it has to be the path of the Dark Side.

And this seems fitting.

The crystals are clear, but the led's are going to be red so when they are on the cystals will glow red.

I'm still waiting on the leds, shipping was delayed a couple of days.

how did you cool it after?
Link Posted: 6/22/2015 10:58:59 PM EDT

@pineappledevil, i just let it cool normally..

The led's finally came in and i made some progress on the crystal chamber. The crystal will have to be cut down to fit but this is pretty much what i was going for.

these are 12v (4-3v coin batts stacked?), so maybe not a good fit but they can be sith or jedi at the push of a remote button.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRahTq3Db-g

my kid has these on his go kart and they are pretty durable. they have a silicone coating on the string and some adhesive backing. The remote does near infinite modes like pulse, speed, color change etc. I think there is a phone app to control these too. Just a few down the hand guard would rock. Easy to work with to, i did a full whip for night riding and then used clear shrink tube to secure it. just some ideas to throw at this awesome project.

Here's a picture of the crystal chamber and the newest addition, red tritium AXTS talon safety selectors. I should be finished with the rifle any day now. I just need to distress two more rail panels.

I had trouble concealing one watch battery in the grip area so it really needs to be as small as i can get it.  I dont know if i will light up the handguard as i cannot really find a good place to place the battery and route all the wires and lights.

This will be a Sith only rifle so it will always be red. I'm planning a Jedi build already :)

Thanks for the information i'm sure i'll end up using that stuff somewhere.

Well guys i think i finally finished this thing minus the lights in the handguard. I have a cool idea brewing on that.

I would like to thank Knight's Armament for locating me some pretty hard to find rails. It was the last piece to the puzzle.

Here are some daytime pics. I'll see if i can take some decent night pics, i'm not the best at taking pics.

yeah, especially when they have to produce them en masse.  i know a guy that's a prop maker and there are only a few which are used for the main characters or close ups which have a lot of detail.  the others are often times solid resin that pass on screen.

That is awesome.

If you are having a hard time mounting a battery, why not do it externally?   Mount it externally on the handguard somewhere in an aluminum or fiberglass enclosure?
