Looking for a free float rail for my SPR build.  I'm building a precision rig and was wondering what the flavor of the week is for a lightweight free float rail.  Using a 18" spikes lothar fluted barrel.  I was originally planning Larue, but wondering what else is out there that is a quality rail.  I have a DD Omega rail on a 16" that I built a while ago, and that has been pretty good, but I'm wondering about getting something that is smoother that I can add rail sections to for a light and bipod.

I was looking for a free floated hand guard too but all I could find were round tubes that looked like a piece of PVC pipe or railed tubes that looked like cheese grater.

So I went with a NM float tube and I am going to fit a set Magpul hand guards one it.

They make NM float tubes in rifle and mid lengths.

Midwest Industries SS, Keymod, or Mlock are GTG.  Excellent quality, reasonably priced, and unbeatable customer service (Andy Yohnk).

I have the Midwest Gen 2 SS on my SPR, very nice rail.  I like it enough that I am going to put a Midwest SSM M-Loc on my lightweight build that is going together right now.

I have a 12" MI SSK Keymod rail and love it. If I were to look again I'd pick up a Mega Wedge Lock, maybe.

Check out Geissele rails, I have them on all my builds. Very light aluminum free float rails. You wont regret choosing one.

I'll throw another nod towards Geiselle rails. Love mine, built like a tank.

I have an Aero Precision 12" Keymod rail. I love the thing. Super light and sturdy. Keymod attachments are everywhere, I think they do MLOK too.

I really like the rainier arms force rail, light and solid.
