Hey guys,

I just wanted to share my AR build with all you AR lovers. I wanted to build something that is absolute tack driver and something that looks good =) with good quality parts and build right. =) So after some research and visiting LGSs and touching/trying a few key parts I have started getting components for this build.

I will update the thread as I have more parts coming in and as parts will be put together.

Rainier Arms/Shilen Ultramatch 18 inch 1:8 twist 223 Wylde Chambered SPR profile with Rifle length gas.
RA Billet Upper/Lower Mod 2 Combo.
Raptor Charging handle.
RA Bolt Assy.
Syrac Gen II Adjustable gas block and Rifle lengh Gas tube.

This is all the parts that I have now. Waiting on Free float hand guard and parts for lower =) Stay tuned for more good parts, updates and build pictures.

I am very excited about this build.

I have few tools on its way to assist with my build (I like good tools).

And here is some gun porn for you.

I guess I am considered a new member and my IMG coding doesnt work.

Makes me sad . I wanted to share some good pictures with you guys.

You have chosen well.

Rainier is a top notch company with great products and quick shipping.

My precision .308 is centered around their match barrel and is a tack driver.

I'm building my precision .223 on their lower as well, but went with a Stag 3G 18" barrel I got for $150 on Black Friday.

I saw that barrel too! But I really wanted to try 223 Wylde Chamber and Rainier Arms had great deal on it for Black Friday plus they are local to me. Man do they have Nice Store! I wanted to buy everything!

Newer accounts have to wait for 3 team members to approve their image before it shows up for everyone else.

You have to purchase a membership.  It gets rid of a bunch of the adds and provides the Active Topics and Subscriptions functions.

Active Topics lets you see the last 100 topics people have posted in from all over the board.  Subscriptions compiles all of the threads you have posted in, along with any you have subscribed too.

I really enjoy the features, so I pay the $24/yr to have them.

Your build looks dope. I'm currently piecing together a similar set up. Best of luck.

Today my mail man brought me a box with Block Worx upper vice block by Spikes Tactical.

Great solid quality tool. Upper fits nice and snug and optional upper block slides on the flat top rails and clams sideways in the vice for high torque barrel removal/installation.

I completed my Upper build. Here is some info and pictures =)

Upgraded my vice to 5 inch. =)

Lapped Upper receiver and it was in spec with no need of lapping. Great quality Billet Upper!

Installed Barrel with some Aeroshell 33MS (If anyone needs some I have whole tube of it) torqued and properly clocked the barrel nut.

Barrel came pre dimpled with one dimple. Made second dimple for Syrac Gas block.

Fortis Rev 14 hand guard.

Today I completed my build with Bobro Mount install with Falcon Menace/BSA Tactical 4-14x44 FFP Mil-Mil Scope (EDIT: this is my back up scope. I am waiting for Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-2C MRAD to arrive from SportOptics.com) and MSP Anti-Cant Device.

Bobro makes amazing mounts, very solid, beautiful machining and great quick disconnect design.

Also shown is Atlas bipod with QD option. (might add Atlas rear stock support later if necessary)

Really nice rifle
Where did you buy the Bobro mount?
Link Posted: 12/19/2014 9:25:41 PM EDT
[#24]
100% Badass rifle.

My only critique is why a flat trigger shoe instead of the SSA-E?
Link Posted: 12/19/2014 9:32:36 PM EDT
[#25]
Flat trigger feels amazing. It reminds me of flat trigger on 1911 pistols.

Nothing wrong with curved, I wanted to try one on AR and it feels good.

Awesome looking build.  The Bobro mount, Fortis rail and Raptor really complement the Rainier lower.  Great pictures too.

I'd like to see how a Lancer clear mag looks in it.

Its is my spare bedroom/man cave in my rent house. I added some lights.

but pictures look well/soft lighted with help of flash bounced off the walls/ceiling during the shots.

=) thats where I ran out of money =)

I had that one as a spare and it will work for now. I will run it through its paces and see how it does.

So?! How's it shoot?

Looks great!

You can certainly improve on the falcon, but you may not need to. From what I've read, they are a solid value optic.
