I never owned a rifle until this year. A friend gave me an 80% lower and challenged me to complete a build. Now I can't stop.

This my latest build and my favorite so far.

DD lw 16" barrel
2A Balios lite upper and lower
2A Titanium comp
Boomfab Titanium bolt carrier (This was probably excessive based on the price)
Ace ultra light stock
JP buffer
V7 parts where available
Viltor charging handle
Titanium takedown pins. They are actually heavier than the V7 ultralight.
BCM gunfighter Mod3
10" BCM KMR rail
Titanium barrel nut for the KMR
Geissle Trigger
SLR .625 adjustable gas block

Thanks for all the help on this site. Vertex Ops was where I got most of it. Almost everything was on sale except for the Boomfab. The price came in well under 2K.

The whole thing came in just under 6 lbs with the Primary arms 1-6X and no mag as shown.

My next challenge is to turn this pile of left over and cheap parts from Brownells sale into Christmas presents for my friends. WIth the 7% off coupons at Brownells, I got complete build kits and lowers for just over $380.
I had a really good year so all my friends who have shown interest in my new hobby are getting an AR for Christmas. Builds 7-12 are just getting started. I have to work on my mass production techniques.

I know the feeling.  I bought the tools to build an upper just to install a handguard.  Realized how easy it was to build them and went a little crazy..  With my own build, rebuilds, and friends and family builds I have around 50 builds under my belt.  I sold off some stuff during the last panic but kept a couple.  Then I started collecting stamps...SBR and a can.  With Efile being so quick and black friday around the corner, I may SBR a few more as well as buy another can next year.

It is a sickness....  For now I am happy just shooting the ones I still have.

Well it took me just under 2 weeks to turn this mish mash of parts.

Into this eclectic collection. 1 300 Blk pistol, 6 16" .223, and 1 extra 16" 300 Blk barrel. My friends will be very excited to receive their unusual Xmas gifts. I also scored TRS 25 high rise Red Dots for $69.00 from PSA so every body is getting an Optic. At that price they were cheaper than Pop up sights. I delivered the Magpul gun already to rave reviews. I realized I liked it very much as well. Simple, good looking and well balanced.

The one disappointment was that the cheap parts from Brownells, the Bushmaster receivers and the 2 Mag Tactical lowers had a lot of fit up issues. Castle nuts would not screw on the receiver extensions, parts bags had 2 front takedown pins and no rears, the Mag Tactical lowers would not accept pieces without sanding the parts or enlarging the holes, Bushmaster receivers did not line up well and 1 ejection port door will still not stay closed. All in all it was more work than it should have been and I think I am cured of my BRD. At least for the near future.

How do you like the scope?

The Primary Arms 1-6x24 is a nice piece and an excellent value. The illuminated Reticle is impressive. I also have a Burris 1.5-6x42 I got cheap at Cabelas. It has a brighter image that seems to have more clarity. It is much larger and more cumbersome. I also have a Nikon M-223 4-16x42 scope. It has the best image in the 4-6x range when compared.

I have never had a chance to try a high end illuminated reticle scope so it is difficult to compare.
