I am looking for a barrel for a 3-gun build.  I want 16", mid gas, 0.625" gas block, and as light as possible.

I'm trying to determine a reason why I don't need one of these or these.

I had issues with the 16.5" barrel.

Ended up ordering a DD 16" HF LW Barrel

It does not have a 0.625" gas block, but that's nothing a lathe can not fix.

I've used Blackhole and Ballistic Advantage barrels and liked them.

I received my barrel today.  It weighs in at 1.55 lb.  That's 0.2 lb more than the DD website shows, but after looking, they have the 14.5" with 0.625" gas block as weighing more than the 16" so the numbers must be wrong.

The gas port seems small to me.  I'm going to put it together this weekend and see how it goes.  Then it's off the the machine shop to turn the gas block area to 0.625" and possible open the gas port up.

I have one with the factory 625 gas block area.
Never thought about turning it down

The LW DD barrel has become my favorite this week. Light and very accurate.

I think the mid-gas only came in 0.75"  Carbine was available in 0.625" though.

Just got back from the range (indoor 25 yard). I put about 250 rounds thru my new BCM 14.5 cold hammer forged, lightweight, mid gas, lightweight (.625 gas block) barrel. Seems quite accurate shooting iron sights. I assembled it with an Aero Precision upper without FA. Used the Noveske NSR 13.5 kemod handguard. It turned out quite light and is a blast to shoot. It also has a Magpul fixed carbine stock and the K2 grip. I think I'm gonna like this little carbine a lot!
