PLEASE,  do not give him your money.  Do it for the people that have lost $1000s and who have lost jobs.

NO MATTER HOW GOOD OF A DEAL IT IS  THEY (RICHARD) DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR MONEY.  HE IS A CROOK AND IS ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE BUT HIMSELF. VERY MANIPULATIVE AND TAKES ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLES TRUST.

Take it from someone who has been contracted by ICE to do work and other who have work for him and posted here, He does not deserve anyones money no matter how good of a deal it is

Also,
COSMETIC BLEMS-
BE CAREFUL may cause extensive damage to your upper. Last blems I saw the Cam pin channel was milled out of spec and does NOT lock or unlock when it should

Wow. Not good news at all. When I bought my NIB BCG from them, I had no idea regarding these issues.

ETA:Fwiw, I've been studying my Ice NIB BCG for the last 30 minutes while lying side by side to my Colt M16 BCG thats been in my SP1 since 1980(after 36yrs and 12k rds, its been 100% reliable). If anything, as far as overall finish quality(machine marks, etc) l'lI be damned if the Ice isn't overall better looking. Nice and slick regarding interacting with the upper. The main subject of course was the cam pin channel placement and shape. For exact shape and what I would consider the critical measurements. It "looks" exactly the same shape, placement in relation to the bolt, etc. Mine has a blem in the Ice logo itself where you see it thru the ejection port. Only half of it is there. So its obvious there IS a cosmetic blem. Of course this doesn't guarantee its not out of spec. But I'm not too concerned at this point. It has indeed been 100% reliable since installing it, thru 800rds of cheap steel(Wolf) ammo so far.

Llike I said even if ICE Arms (Richard Oliver) puts out a good product THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. YOU ARE LITTERLY GIVING A CROOK MONEY AND ENABLING HIM TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MORE HONEST PEOPLE.

WA State ICE Arms "office" is nothing more than a shipping company called Derringer

Im sure others that have worked for Richard Oliver can reiterate other "facts"

Again dont buy stuff from them, no matter how good it is, do it for the hard working people that have never been paid and left out to dry!

I AM ONE OF THEM AND THERE ARE OTHERS! Please spread the word.

I've only done business with them one time.  Bought a NiB cosmetic blem BCG the first time they offered them.  It's got about 1300 rounds on it now.  I replaced the extractor spring at about 400 rounds.  Other than that it's worked like any other BCG.

That said, there have been so many horror stories since I bought that BCG, I wouldn't do business with them today.

There are way too many other suppliers without all the baggage.

Anyone see the email they sent out about opening up a physical shop?

I ordered a NiB BCG from them over a month ago.  Just disputed the charge with my bank.  I've tried multiple times to contact them and no replies for the past month.  This was my first experience with them and will definitely be my last.  You might check out http://www.kstarkyenterprises.com/stark-armament-company.html.  I cannot personally vouch for them yet, but I have never heard anything but good reports about Kent and his products.

See, this is what I don't get...why would you go buy from them in the first place?  I am sure you've tried to do some research on Ice before you bought it and probably saw all the ques on bad experiences with Ice from all the different forums.

Houlds, I did get the newsletter about them opening up a physical shop.  Only if people would stop purchasing from them...

I got an email update from them that went to my spam folder... they are opening a physical store apparently.  If that is the case, they might have a line out the door with broken BCGs and not-straight barrels.

Guys, what are we doing here still buying from this company? I have posts  starting at page 4, and I figured this company would be history since I have been off of ar15.com for awhile. I log in and we are on page 25 of people still buying their crap from a Candadian company and still seeing issues. Let it go and send this company packing. The sooner this company goes bye bye, the sooner a new company can fill their spot and hopefully produce quality parts and excellent customer service and they will join the many, many others that do both very well.

Give these companies your money

Primary arms
Rainier
Young manufacturing
Stonefire arms
White Oak armament
Jse surplus
Phase 5 tactical
Shadow ops weaponry
Seekins
Mega
Mas defense
Etc
Etc
Etc

Another black eye for Ice Arms.

Purchased and charged for two Zombie BCGs from their company OOA March 5th 2014. The price was very good, so they sold out fast. I was assured I would receive my order when stock became available.

About 3-4 weeks, I received a package with one BCG in bubble wrap, no invoice, no reciept, no nothing in the USPS box. I took a picture of the package and contents and immediately e-mailed them.

I was assured by "Julie" that the oversight would be taken care of, and that she had CCed "Colin" in shipping to get the order fixed, This was around 01 April...should have been a warning.

I recieved several replies from "Julie" to later queries, sent about every two weeks: "Out of stock, filling back orders, shipping first of next week..."

As of mid-May, all replies have gone unanswered, and nobody answers the phone.

It's been long enough now, I have lost the ability to dispute the charge.

Buyer beware, and if you have an order in dispute, get your credit card company involved early on.

I purchased a barrel from them through AIM.  It was defective. I tried to contact them but no luck. They would never call me back.
Thankfully AIM has top notch customer service and is helping me.

Colin quit ICE Arms a while ago. Richard was an absolutely dispicable person and a terrible businessman. I can't tell whether Blue Ridge will be decent, but if Richard is not involved it will be worlds better. I hadn't heard that he was starting something new however.

That said, don't see this as defending him. But I talked with Colin extensively about the sources of the issues with ICE, and I can tell you he was pissed off to no end with the way things went. Not my place to explain that however.

Noted.  My one and only time dealing with Colin was fine, it was seeing what happened on that other board with people that were dealing with him and others that he worked with.  One guy on the other board drove to their "office/shop" to get his refund.  There were quite a few problems with the BCG's.  Was that Colin's fault? Nope.  But I think it was the way things were handled.  Another interesting thing was how in THIS thread there was a shop/dealer Guns80, that had product listed, and when called out as to who makes their barrels he stated Faxon Firearms.  Then the owner of Faxon Firearms chimed in that they were stiffed for 100 barrels by the owner of Ice, but Guns80's barrels were listed as made by Faxon but with Ice Arms logos??  I wonder how he wound up with those??
IMHO, there are a lot of other reputable dealers out there then to take a chance with an unknown one.

The last I heard the barrels were made by KAK out of California but I could be wrong.

Give it to me straight doc. What are the chances that the order I made in July will ever be filled? I've been sending them messages through their website and emailing Colin (whom I believe is no longer with them) on a regular basis with no response.

If I call them would I have a better chance? Is (603) 718-2104 their number?

I'm getting antsy because I have the rest of the parts I need for this build finally and I want to build it. I also paid for most of the order with icebucks, so it was pretty cheap.

Colin certainly didn't seem to have any issue with going along with the deplorable business practices of the company.  Along with stiffing his employees, clients, and suppliers.  And plenty of his friends along the way.

I would say you're SOL.  To the best of my knowledge, ICE is effectively no longer in business and the owner has moved on to a new scam.  Colin has not been part of the equation for a while, from what he told me.

I made what looks to be a mistake ordering from them over a year and a half ago.  I ordered a 11.5" nitrided barrel which took over 2 months to get but I did finally get it.  It's been in my parts box for awhile as I wasn't ready to use it to build an upper with it.  Now, after reading all the issues that people have had with them in the past I'm concerned about the barrel.  Is there a way that I can check it to make sure it's safe to use?  any advice would be appreciated.  Back when I had ordered it I was told that green mountain was who had made their barrels.  Anyone know if there is any truth to that?

i got one of their 18" ss barrels when they were starting out and i guess i got lucky because its geen a great shooter for the past year and a half since i finished that build. others have not been so lucky between no return calls/emails, no delivery of parts or defective products. i seem to be one of the few that got what they paid for

It does not matter whose barrel blanks one uses, it could be the bestest in the world blanks....but, if not machined and assemble properly, it's just a decorative ornament or expensive back scratcher.  This was where ICE Arms were with their branded barrels...it was hit or miss, mostly miss with chambers off spec, or extension misaligned, etc.
Use a BCG and go/no go gauge to check if chamber is good...and dry build up the barrel on an upper to see if it aligns...

I've mentioned it before, but here's the deal with the barrels:  Green Mountain BLANKS, profiled and chambered (as I was told) by KAK.

The most common issue I've seen with the barrels -- aside from those that had drastically obvious issues, like being bent -- is tight/rough chambers.  Accuracy is fine, safe to fire, but when the brass swells upon firing, the case sticks.  I polished several of the chambers with bore brushes and Flitz and have since had nothing but flawless operation.

Inexcusable for a new manufactured barrel, but if you're stuck with it and find that's an issue, it is possible to make it work.

ETA:  And, as V6 said, check to make sure the extension is aligned, gas port is aligned, etc.
