Excellent video. Very confidence-inspiring.

I'm currently scraping this off YT for future use as I'm currently buying parts for my first build.

Between eating dinner, chasing down a dropped detent, dealing with a bent roll pin punch and then a bent detent spring, it took a lot longer than the 23:41 vid, but I got it done!  Thanks a bunch!

12/31/14 Update:  Finally took it to the range yesterday, and it worked!

Thanks NSZ,

Great video!

Just built up my 1st lower, and I'm stoked!

It took longer to watch the video than it did to do the work.

While I did NOT scratch the receiver, getting in the bolt release retaining pin was probably the hardest part.

All in all, a cake walk --

I've found several of your videos before and they've all been great. I've built my fair share of lowers but it still is nice to have great reference material. I'm still SLOW building them but I guess speed isn't important.

Keep up the nice work.

Great video. Well done!

The only criticism I have is calling it How to build your lower receiver. I was expecting an 80% tutorial. This is a How to assemble a stripped lower.

When installing rails on my uppers I like to use a carry handle to line up the upper to the rail.  I just install it half way between the upper and rail.

Thanks for a great video. Built my first lower today, it took me 45 minutes, mainly because I couldn't set my laptop down by my bench and had to keep pausing the video and running back and forth to the living room through each step. The utility knife trick for the detent worked great, nailed it first try with no unscheduled launchings.  I won't have any trouble swapping out the FCG later either if I'm not happy with the current one.

Now I have 3 more to build out and can't wait until the parts come in.

I'm sure it's been said tons before, but thank you for this video. I've tinkered with the AR before but have always been into other platforms more. I took it upon myself to build up a new rifle from lower up to see if I can get into this one more. The video was great. Answered all my questions. Assembled the whole thing with a wooden mallet/hammer, a screwdriver, and a couple allen wrenches.

Wish I had my punch set handy, but I'll get at it later to tap those in a bit more.

I did make a couple marks getting the bolt catch pin in place, but that was my fault for only using 1 layer of tape

If anyone had any doubts about it, this is a great video to watch and follow.

A few days ago I didn't know a thing about AR-15's and now I have ordered everything I need to build my first lower for my first AR-15 pistol.
With this being said, I searched around the web for some real good tutorial videos on how to build my lower. Your video was one of 2 videos which I have been watching many times over, as I await my parts. The other video being this one:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sbCGW7Pqbc4
I thank you for a great tutorial, well videoed with a great narration.
And I also want to thank the author of the other video. Both have been of great assistance to me and are very well appreciated for your time & patience it takes to produce, in addition to your willingness to assist others.
Jobs well done.......

Another big thanks for your vid!  Assembled my first lower last night and only had a few springs want to blast into outer space from the kitchen table.  The exacto knife was clutch
