What do you mean "pinned"? I purchased but want to drop the fixed sight for a full length rail. Any recommendations?

A 14.5 inch barrel is only legal once a correct length muzzle device is permanently attached to create a 16" barrel.
There are a few ways to permanently attach, weld, pin/weld, 1000 braze/solder. There are services from a few shops that do this for a small fee if you are not capable of doing it yourself. It is legal to own but illegal to mount on a lower which is registered as a rifle and not a pistol, by putting it on a rifle lower half you now have a Short barreled rifle which is illegal without a registering it properly and paying the tax stamp fee if your state allows it even. |

Pinned means permanantly welding a flash supressor to make the 14.5 barrel legal, making it 16 inches. If you bought an upper with a 14.5 inch barrel and use it..you can get some federal time.

That's why at the bottom of the ad it says All NFA Rules Apply. That is what I thought when I bought one and now it is at my friends house until I find a new barrel or extended muzzle break, or just sell the upper. |
