Myself and a couple of my buds are looking for stripped lower receivers online.....I know, I know... I might be behind the power curve already, but if anyone knows of a place online, can you do everyone in the ARFCOM community a favor and post a web or URL link here on this thread? Any help is appreciated and please save all those posts with the little "animated" figures ROTFL, don't get me wrong, they're funny and all but my hopes are to seriously help folks including myself find solid leads to places that still have lowers available.

Once again...thanks for any help rendered.

Good post, and sorry. I just ran through all my suppliers and came up empty!
Turns out my boss (I'm in the US Military) DOESN'T like guns all that much... and people just now caught wind of it...
I'll update if I find some - OST

idk if they still had any, but AZfirearms (or arizona firearms) had a few stripped lowers in stock. they are out in goodyear. i can tell you all the eastside stores r out of stock of lowers.
Link Posted: 12/20/2012 5:31:32 PM EDT
does that essential arms site take orders?

Code Red is taking orders and promising delivery n 3 to 4 weeks.

I called and called and called some more within one hour I got through and placed my order. Last time there was a panic it seemed like morning calls to essential arms worked best. Had three previously and they worked for me.

Yes, but you must do the transfer through your FFL as per any online purchase.

I ordered one from JD Machine Tech last night. I am waiting for them to call me this morning to confirm whether or not they are in stock. Their AR-10 lowers are listed as out of stock, but the AR-15 lowers are not. They have a bullet button installed but that's easily removed. Will update this when I hear back. I've been trying all morning long. Call goes through but no one answers. I've emailed them also and to no avail.

It took me most of the morning trying to call Essentail Arms and all i got was a message that the voicemailbox was full. Not giving up I finally got through and they still have lowers @ $110 plus shipping. She said mine would go out sometime after Christmas as they are swamped with orders.

Just ordered mine from essential arms. Had to call several times. Sometimes it goes straight to their voicemail (which is full), sometimes is rings and no answer. Finally someone picked up the phone. They don't have any LPK's though.

I ordered two last night and haven't been able to get a hold of them either. Only excuse to that is hopefully they're using all the manpower to box and ship stuff out

Yep, they have them in stock. I just ordered mine a couple of minutes ago. They are having trouble answering all the phones so just keep calling. I think I called about 8 times before someone picked up.

PSA is out of stock again.

I got one. My brother, a few minutes behind me, did not.

I tried roughly 20 times today to get ahold of JD Machine Tech to no avail. Probably wont hear anything until after Christmas now. Fingers crossed.

Slayer 1991, I ordered a AR15 lower from JD Machine Tech this morning after I saw your post. I also tried several times to reach them today both by phone and by email. I finally got an email reply this evening asking for my FFL information for shipping. Therefore I think that you are in good shape since you ordered yours before me. By the way, after I ordered mine on the web I rebooted the site and noticed that all the lowers were marked as being on "back order". It appears that in a matter of a few minutes all the AR15 and AR10 lowers were sold out.

Rguns has lowers marked in 6.8mm still in stock (supposedly). Just picked up 1 with a stock and 1 stripped.

No indications they're out of stock, but they're 270 for a forged lower.

I ordered one Wednesday 12/19 and then emailed them the next day asking if they even had them in stock. Never got a reply but my payment went thru.

I ordered from JD Machine yesterday before they showed back order and received an email last night asking for my ffl information. So it appears if you ordered when they showed in stock you are good to go.
Link Posted: 12/22/2012 5:57:54 AM EDT
I bought two lowers from them too and have not had any luck getting a hold of anyone also it looks like now they are out of stock on both 308 and 223 lowers.

Got my fingers crossed that I will get mine in. If anyone else ordered and gets any inte l please post it up.

Thursday evening I order one .223 lower and one .308 lower from JD Machine Tech. The .223 was showing as in stock and the 308 as backordered at the time of the order, but JD Machine charged my credit card for both. I've left voicemails and sent a couple of emails asking where to send FFL info; haven't heard back.

Anyone have the specific fax number or email address where JD Machine Tech wants to receive recipient FFL's? Probably like many of you, I'm just trying to stockpile a few lower receivers and hi cap mags. Might not actually build them up for a while.

I'm a newbie to building AR-15's and I have a question hopefully one of you guys can answer for me. Rguns still has 6.8mm lower receivers in stock. Can I put a 5.56 upper on a 6.8mm lower? I would much rather build the .223/5.56 variety because ammo is cheaper. (Well, maybe not right now b/c of the potential ban but in general it has been). Thanks!

If a website requires a FFL on file, or email/fax one, how do order? I don't personally have a FFL, but obviously my gun dealer does. They dont really give any instructions for someone who personally doesn't have a FFL.

Yes, you can use a lower marked "6.8 SPC" with a 5.56 upper. In fact, there are many lower receivers marked "Multi" for exactly this reason.

As a rule, just follow the instructions on the site. Pay for the order, your address will be the billing address and the FFL holder will be the shipping address. Notify the FFL holder that you will be using, usually a local gun shop, and ask them to send a copy of their FFL to the retailer you are purchasing from. I would choose and confirm the FFL holder before you place the order. Hope that helps.

There is a guy on gunbroker.com (SandWventures) who appears to be selling stripped lowers for $250. I got one via Buy It Now earlier this week (before the price went up $50), and he just emailed me with an offer of multiples @ $250 each. It seems legit, but I haven't actually seen the receiver yet so no guarantees. These appear to be generic aluminum forged lowers that would have likely sold in the low $100's two weeks ago.

I'd be a little wary about this one. It states on their main lowers page that ALL lowers are backordered. And then, if you try to add a ridiculous number of 6.8 ones to your cart, it lets you go through. I tried adding 3500 of them and it had no problem with it. So something tells me that they really don't have these in stock. Still worth trying, but just be careful. Looks like they're not available via phone until tomorrow.

Thanks so much! Do you guys have any opinions on DPMS lowers? Good, bad, or ugly? I know they are probably 2nd tier lowers (versus a brand like Armalite, Knight, Bushmaster, etc) but I just need to have a complete gun built by the first of the year just in case the ban happens.

Also, I see that this topic was covered elsewhere but I would like to confirm this question if possible. I am originally a KY resident who moved to Alabama to go to college. The plan was to move back after school but my family and I decided to stay. I have yet to change my driver's license to Alabama. Can I get an ALabama FFL to receive the lower receiver I order in Alabama with me having a KY DL or will I need to get a KY FFL to receive it? It would save me a 5 hour drive if I can get it here in Bama! Thanks and I am really glad I found this site!

Regarding DPMS lowers, if you can find one for around MSRP, buy it.

I am not certain of the laws in Alabama or Kentucky so please dont take this as gospel, but I believe you can purchase at least a rifle (handguns can be a different story in some states) in Alabama with your Kentucky license.
