So I'm in the middle of a slim/low profile budget build (actually its a "spend as much as I need to just don't want to spend extra on things that don't need it")
So I'm wondering if a 20-25 dollar charging handle will suffice as I don't intend to run a scope and don't need a large latch.

If your just looking for a run of the mill CH, a $15 one will do.

+1 (as long as you grab it on both sides to pull like it was designed, otherwise spend the $45 for the Gunfighter)

Millions of GIs since the days of the M16 have survived on the standard plain old normal charging handle.
