THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I have been lurking for a while, taking it all in, and have decided to pull the trigger so to speak. I've decided that to build my first AR. I have been looking at the LaRue Tactical Stealth uppers and the LT-007 (which has M4 feed ramps.) from what I have gathered they have a tight fit and little to no slop, I ASSume that this is also dependent on obtaining a quality lower, of which I am looking at the Tactical Innovations T15BDX. My question to your vast knowledge: Is the cost of a $250 upper justifiable if there are comparable uppers that can be had for a lower price? Also for those who own either of the above mentioned products, what have your experiences been with them? I would also like to thank everyone here for providing such a quality forum. -Tsabo |

If you get a Larue upper, it would only make sense to get a Larue lower as well. Unfortunately, I think that Larue lowers have been discontinued, at least for the time being.

Thanks Sig, I did look around for them, but I wasn't able to find anything... maybe I just haven't looked hard enough.

for a billet upper yes its worth it while I think there are other billet uppers that are more appealing such as the seekins upper that Spikes tactical uses

Check out MEGA Arms for billet receiver sets too. They are very very well made and flawless finish.

Yes and no. What will the build be used for? For CMP Service matches, no not an issue upper
If you use any high end upper for a build, use a barrel to match it. |

It will not be a match rifle; however, I'm not one to compromise for quality and I figured that if Im going to build an AR and spend $1200-1400, why not go ahead and get quality bits.

Since when does billet uppers equate to more accurate/precision gun?
That said LaRue makes great stuff and their uppers are clean. Might as well go with a complete Stealth upper. They are accurate as all get out. Can't wait till I start reloading and start putting bullets in the same hole but I will settle for the still sub MOA accuracy now. You could use one of those $100 lowers, save the money for a good trigger. |

So I think I will probably go with a MEGA upper and lower combo, only problem is everywhere is out of stock, no dealers here in Georgia. :( I've heard of some pretty ridiculous lead times when it comes to AR build from some friends of mine, so I guess this wasn't totally unexpected.
