THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
So I built my first AR from the lower up. I even built my first rifle with a totally stripped upper. Easy stuff with the right tools.

Success, I just put 100 flawless rounds through it, not a burp or hiccup.

Totally Frankengun.

PSA lower
CMMG LPK
PSA RE and buffer, MAGPUL MOE
BCM BCG
SAA stainless barrel, 16 1/9 carbine gas 5.56
Areo Precision upper
upper parts are bits a pieces
Troy VTAC
Troy low profile gas block
A2 flash hider
Cheap Truglo redot to get it started
Lots of ammo stuffed in Pmags

Started with one round in the mag, then two, then five. No issues at all. Brass looks fine too. It is easier on brass than my R25 for sure.

With the red dot I could get about 2 MOA at 100 yards. I am sure with true glass on it it could be MUCH better.

Pics forthcoming.

Agreed but 20 years of active service, I got my training long ago.

An ACOG is coming when I get the $ together. I will toss a set of Troy BUIS on it then. The cheap sight is a place holder and will go on my kid's 10/22 then. In the mean time it worked fine today on my AR.

An inexperienced builder does not neccessarily mean an inexperienced shooter.

Apparently that DD form 2 doesn't mean one knows how to post pictures on ARFCOM either...

Stats sound good, now lets get them pictures up and viewable for all to see!

The pics are posted via my public Dropbox folder, often company servers block dropbox. I can't see them at work but they are fine on my phone. Yeah I should have rotated them...

nope, not Jackson.

No group pics. I was more concerned with it running on this trip. A red dot scope is not the optic for precise group testing anyway.

With the RDS it was a solid 2 MOA. I did not put a lot of effort into shooting tiny groups.

I will put some glass on it eventually just to ring it out.

Range trip 2.

100 more rounds of 55gr AE FMJ. Runs perfect with Pmags and some old GI mags I pulled from my desk draw at work.

The AE ammo is 2 MOA at best. I tried a few Hornady Zombie Max rounds. MOA or better. That crap is too expensive for anything but shooting yotes. It cost way to much but is quality ammo. I bought it for the expanding nature to pump into yotes. It was the only expanding ammo in town.

I set up next to a guy with a bushy that would not run for crap. I smiled at my Frankengun and kept on shooting while he cussed.

I got fussed at for running half a mag to fast.
