not enough information.i'm assuming the rifle worked fine before the change. it doesn't fire OR it doesn't chamber the second round? if it does not chamber the next round, then the bolt isn't going far enough back to strip the next round from the magazine. this could be caused by the spring being too long for the buffer. did your friend use the spring and buffer out of the rifle extension in the shorter collapsable extension? all just guessing until more info is made available.

The new stock came with a new buffer and spring and buffer tube, he used all of it. The first round fires and chambers the second round but will not go bang it is a rifle length gas system i believe.

The buffer may be too light

Buffer too spring too weak? Should mention its 20" Can you pull the charging handle back and lock it on the bolt catch ? You should fire it with one round in the chamber over an empty mag and see if the bolt locks back. It sounds like it's short-stroking and probably won't lock back on its own. If it worked with the A2 buttstock assembly it has to be something with the Tapco kit. Maybe they screwed up and placed a rifle length spring in the kit. Some airsoft crap is floating around and they use a shorter tube. |

I had a 20" do something similar.
The bolt was not cycling at full speed due to a loose gas key. Check that. I would be more sure if it was not ejecting the old round, but it might still be the case. ETA- Just noticed that this problem is post stock swap. Probably not the gas key, more likely some buffer or spring issue as noted by the other posters. |
