What optic should I put on this rifle?
A friend of mine recently brought in his S&W Magpul edition gun that he installed a BCM KMR 13.5 on and it had a Leupold 1-4 which was in a 1" tube. It balanced well and it seemed like a good idea but the reticle was a little too simple for me. |

S&W M&P 15 MOE upper & lower Magpul stock Magpul grip Magpul (knockoff) AFG Holosun 403B micro red dot Daniel Defense EZ-Car 9 rails Surefire G2X light I don't know how the Holosun will workout, but I'll try it for now, and if it fails, then I'll break down and buy an Aimpoint H1. I used to own a Magpul AFG 2, and I really can't tell the difference between it and the knock off I have on it right now.

I recently finished my first build. It has Battle Arms lightweight upper/lower, Christiansen Arms .223 wylde carbon barrel, AP Precision carbon hand guard, Geissele SSA-E trigger, RCA titanium BCG, Silent captured buffer spring, M4-72 muzzle brake, Diamondhead flip up 45° iron sights, and Leupold Mark-AR with illuminated reticle.

It's not 100%. Barrel, muzzle device and castle nut have not been tightened. And gas tube/block not installed. (Haven't decided on whether to paint it or not.)

Anderson lower, PSA CHF rifle kit, RRA 2 stage match trigger. Not as fancy as some of the builds here but I've been wanting a 20" rifle for a long time now so I'm pretty happy with it.

Work in progress which will end up as either an 18 or 20" with a rifle gas port. I just bought a PRI gas block which looks very similar to the KAC low profile and it will be installed on either a stainless or black barrel and I'm undecided if I want to paint the rest of the gun or remove the paint on this rail. Fluting is also in consideration as there are no fluted rifles in the stable. The optic is a Vortex Viper HS-T PN VHS-4310 that I took off my 308 since my newest optic for that gun came in. |

It cycled back, came forward about an inch and stopped. I could pull it back with the CH but when released it would still only come forward that one inch. I thought maybe the buffer retaining pin had popped up and blocked it but when I disassembled it I couldn't see any evidence of that. I put it back together and it seems to cycle by hand just fine. So I haven't found out what caused the stoppage but I thought something felt a little funky with this CH. I was surprised when I took a closer look at it. New one on the left, compared to one out of another rifle.

I didn't like the "ribbed for her pleasure" handguards on the 5.56 carbine. So I found a MOE SL set on ebay for $23. Much nicer!

Been working on getting my collection of 80% AR-15, AR-45, and AR-308 lowers finish machined and assembled:
Above is an Armalite-patterned AR-10 upper and 80% lower set I purchased from Genesis CNC as part of an AR-10 build I am doing. In addition to finishing the *)% lower, I had to do a bit of tweaking to get it to jive with the upper, The last photo in the series is checking fitment of the 80% lower to my older Armalite AR-10T factory upper with a .280" gauge-pin. 
The above is an 10% AR-45 lower receiver from CNC guns that I had sitting around for years before I finally decided to get off my ass and finish it. The magazines are Koren War vintage M3A1 Greasegun 30-round .45ACP magazines. 
Above is the process I used to complete my billet DPMS-pattern AR-308 80% lower from 80% Arms and trial fitting it to a Patriot Ordnance factory DPMS-style factory upper. 
Above are three Anderson Arms 80% AR-15 upper/lower sets I decided to try and machine. 
Above are a couple of pics illustrating the differences between a CNC Guns AR-45 lower and Tactical Machining standard 80% AR-15 lower. 
Above are a bunch of completed Tactical MAchining 80% AR-15 lowers that I completed the machining and in the process of assembling and adding to my collection. 
In the process of doing one my own CNC engraving.
