The Sig brace while awesome, just wasn't cutting it for me. I bought it knowing that I could convert to a carbine if I wanted to and had I bought a rifle I wouldn't be able to go the other way.

Darkamek, Thanks for posting that pic.  I just bought this hand guard from Dvor.com for a dedicated .22lr upper. I plan on using my existing lower with FDE furniture and I wasn't sure how the rail would look with a black upper but I like yours a lot. I didn't initially want an FDE hand guard but this was on sale and I had a credit and coupon for Dvor. So, $99.99 to my door was a no-brainer.

EDIT: Dvor.com has a bunch of UTG Pro stuff on sale till midnight tonight.

Rustolium has a camo series of super flat earth tones. It's the dark brown. In some lights it almost looks AK plum...

I would describe it as chocolate

Last night I decided to venture off and build my AR, I got it black Friday so I got a great deal IMO ($349.00), I was a bit intimidated with all the small pieces and the springs but thanks to AR-15.com and YouTube videos, I was able to build it and finish it within an hour or so. I’m really excited to take it out this weekend and see what she can do. here is a pic of it.
