Is it viable to place a E2D Defender Ultra head on a M600 Scout body for weapon mounted?

Some issues I can think of:
Size (will it fit?)
Possibly not rated for weapons shock?
E2D has (2) modes --(but does the click cap control this or the head?)

This is the LED 600lumen version of the E2D.

I bought a M600 body and clicky cap and have the E2D on hand.
Hoping this will work and save some money.
Thoughts?

Possibly not rated for weapons shock? Its not a "weapon" light
E2D has (2) modes --(but does the click cap control this or the head?) You do not want 2 modes with your weapon light. Also the head controls the modes

Thoughts? Nope

it works well....

but not the greatest idea.....

I used this in a night match and it gave me the low light when I needed the high light.

It will fit fine. I have done the opposite...butting a M600 head on my E2D...fits and works fine.

I do not believe that there is any difference, as far as "weapons rated" other than having the 2 modes.

2 modes are less desirable for tactical use but not the end of the world (assuming your head gives you high mode for the 1st press).

I weapons mount a V1 (2 modes) for night hunting using NV. The low mode is extremely useful for navigating, working in thick woods, and indoors. And changing between modes takes maybe 1/2 second.

Now, if you are a SWAT dude, or kicking in doors over-seas, I would say think twice about the two modes.

I also have an E2D Defender Ultra and would like to convert it to a weapon light (single mode). Sounds like the best way is to replace the head. Any suggestions on where to find a good option at a decent price? Is the Surefire M600 head the go to answer or do people like alternatives (like Cloud Defensive option)?
