Need more info? Is lightweight your only requirement? Intended use? Budget? Want to run a pressure pad?

I'd throw an X300 on a cantilever magpul mount. Simple relatively lightweight and robust. I don't use the TLR series of Streamlights any longer as I've broken 2, and the X300 light activation switch is superior.
I'm giving the new Streamlight railmount 2 or whatever it's called a try on a 1301 but I'm not ready to call it reliable yet and it's only a sample size of one.

All that said don't overthink it Surefire X300, or one of the 3/6 series white light scout lights on a reliable mount and call it good. HD/WROL purpose built or bought rifles aren't the place to experiment with boutique brands.

I do on a backup/in storage AR, had it on the rifle for a good while before that and it held up fine for day to day use.

Nice, did you have an Elzetta light also?

Surefire X300 Ultra mounted in front of your front BUIS.  May seem a bit weird at first, but once you use it, you'll never go back.  having the light between the sights and barrel is winners.

Yes, it's awesome.  Pair the Elzetta mount with a G2X tactical and it's a quality, low cost, light weight solution.

I have the OD green Elzetta mount on my Colt 6920. I picked it up on Ebay in like new condition for a good price.

My wife asked what i wanted for Christmas and i told her an Elzetta tape switch. So we'll have to see if there enough clearance in between the mount and the MOE hand guard.

I've used numerous setups from Surefire over the last 25 years and I'm starting to really like a simple X300U mounted at 12 o'clock in front of the front sight.

Would you guys recommend getting the thumb screw version of the Elzetta mount?

For me, no.  I don't remove my weaponlight.  If I think I'll need a hand held light, I'll bring one with me.  I always leave my light on my gun.
