Anyone have any idea if there are any sources still selling the discontinued tan version of these models?
So bummed they discontinued them :( |
Arms Unlimited is still showing the FDE X300U as in stock. This is where I ordered mine when they very first came out.
A new batch will hit 2017 if you wait. I'd not pay the high fees charged for older M600, M300, or X300 variants when the new versions will hit in a few months.
Damn that's good to know because I've been pulling my hair out over this also. Will patiently await new offerings
Surefire's already got the tan X300U-A listed on their site so hopefully the tan M300 comes back soon. As much as I love how sleek the Arisaka 300 Series lights are the tan Surefires just look sooooo much cooler.
This would be amazing. Think we might be finding out during shot show?
I got tired of waiting on Arisaka so I ordered a tan X300U-A from Weapon Outfitters this afternoon

That's just pretty. I've always pondered the idea of putting a light in front of my BUIS. Looks great man. View Quote Thanks. Now I just need to order the actual gun The anodizing on the tan X300 is much more matte than the black one. It makes it look a little nicer and match the Magpul stuff better, IMO. |

Just got off the phone with Surefire. Apparently were not the only one who wants tan surefire lights. I asked "Will you guys be rehashing out tan surefire m300 and m600s?" The lady laughed and told me a couple dealers have been calling to ask the same question. She said they wouldn't be manufacturing any and to check back every year...
The market is getting dry and I cant seem to find one. One of these days i'll catch a break. |

She said they will not be making more FDE/tan Scouts in the future. |
That's strange. I wonder why they started selling tan X300s again
Strange, for the last few months I could never find it on the Surefire website and all the retailers I checked only had black ones. Then all the sudden 3 weeks ago I found it on the website and then eventually ordered one from Weapon Outfitters.

there are people within surefire pushing for the Tan stuff to come back....some within positions of influence...not a done deal, but you will likely see stuff coming back at some point.

They are only going to make a run of fde/tan when a military contract requires it. Then the excess production will get dumped to the civilian market. They will not make tan for normal civilian consumer sales as a normal production item. Mark my words, by the end of 2017, there will be new tan/fde Surefire weapon lights released, the new 600 lumen X300U, M600U, and M300C and/or X300V, M600V, M300V... more than one will be available by end of 2017. The military is slowly switching to all coyote/fde magazines and accessories, Surefire will not have a choice. How much excess production will be allowed and diverted to civilian sales is the only question.

I've been pouting about this for over a year. I've been working on an all fde 6.8 build and had planned on a fde scout light from Larue but they seemed to disappear from the website. Asked Larue at their booth at Shot last year and they said no more being made. Very disappointing but this has me hopeful for something this year now.

I'd be down for 2 tan M600Us if I could find them. Selling the tan lights doesn't seem like something that should be a difficult business decision for Surefire...

Arisaka is now selling their 300-Series lights in Magpul FDE Cerakote...
https://arisakadefense.com/collections/light-mounts/products/300-series-light I'd be all over it but I like the x300 at 12 o'clock way more than I thought I would. |

I called surefire today to check on the status of an order and RMA.
Chatted with the Customer Service lady a little. I asked about 7.62 Closed-tine Warcomps...being discussed. When I asked about the Tan Scout lights, she informed me that... TAN LIGHTS ARE CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION!! Not just to fill a DoD contract, they will be a regular item for Civ sales too. |

FDE X300U-As are already on the website. Nothing yet on the Scouts, though one would assume they're not far behind. http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff502/augeekim/SUREFIRE_X300U-A_FDE_zpsivcre3tw.png ~Augee View Quote |

Unfortunately, I don't think that means anything. They never stopped making the tan X300U; it has been on their site for quite some time. This is not new. View Quote However, the Internet Archive collects snapshots of various websites at various times. Unfortunately, the most recent snapshot they have of the listing for the X300U-A is over 6 months ago, on 23 September, 2016. https://web.archive.org/web/20160923071553/http://www.surefire.com/illumination/weaponlights/handgun/x300u-a-weaponlight.html However, as of at least six months ago, it would appear that Surefire was not offering the X300U-A in FDE direct to consumers on their website, regardless of whatever channels they may have still been available through. ~Augee |

This would be an excellent move on Surefire's part due to the slow market proceeding the presidential election. Thank goodness they are finally starting up again... It would be a nice boost to their sales especially if they made it adaptable to the new holster they are releasing.. Hopefully by the end of the year patients will pay off and we can all buy Tan scouts for sub $250 View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Funny stuff, everyone is starting to dump their tan Surefires on the marketplace. OH NO the panicks. Selling for $400+ is hilarious.

I just buy black (cheaper than tan), and spray paint to match color.

They updated their website with new SKUs, but still no tan yet.

Was hoping for some lights without all the fancy tailcaps and switches. It is in the right color though. |
