Mini Scout M300

What head is on it? Surefire made at least 3 different heads. The brightest I believe is 300 lumens.

Mine is a M300A which I believe is 110 lumen. The head says KX1A on it.

300 lumens is about the cap, currently. That is what the M300 is currently producing. I still remember the Malkoff M60 conversion on a 6P being THE barn-burner for 2 CR123's in a single-die LED package. Now we are pushing well past that with 1 batter...

You'll be hard pressed to find a 1 cell with more than ~300 lumens. If you want more output, you need more juice.

thinking he wants to keep the scout footprint, weight, form, and single cr123a battery.
however, malkoff does make a drop in head, but his specs only say 250 lumen, he's normally conservative, and won't beat around the bush with his numbers. that's still impressive with a single cr123a.

Malkoff E1T is a 300 lumen head with good throw. It does cost around $100. I have seen some retailers list the M300C for $199. At that point, you may be better off purchasing the whole light and using your old scout on another rifle.

Don't laugh but I got an Armtek Predator that has 1,250 lumens and a 5 degree beam. It's got a 500+ meter throw, which is ridiculous light for under $90...
