Hopefully this isn't a stupid question, but I have never dealt with an aluminum vertical grip before and storing batteries inside.

Specifically, I have a Troy aluminum modular grip. It has a storage compartment built in. The inside is strictly aluminum, no kind of insulation, coating, etc.

I want to store two CR123 batteries inside of the grip if possible. Are there any precautions that I should take to make sure the batteries don't discharge, arc, anything like that?

Thanks in advance!

Store batteries so the ends that touch have the same polarity (ie: + to + or - to -). If you're especially worried, do that plus have them in a small plastic bag to prevent contact w/the aluminum grip.
