Like, no way they'd get damaged after 90rds of rapid fire, bra! I still have and use mine that I was issued pre-9/11.

you'd have to get the batteries above 200°F or something like that before they will start doing bad things.  So with that set up, I doubt you'd have an issue.  But the bigger questions remains, why mount it to the barrel when there are so many better mounting options out there?
