What the title says I'm thinking of getting a higher end light specifically the Surefire m952. While looking on the equipment exchange I've seen them range from $60-$200 which seems a little sporadic, and also was curious what I should look for before purchasing one. Thank you for anyone that helps me with this it is greatly appreciated.

$60 is a good price but I wouldn't pay much over $100 for the light. I would highly recommend a Malkoff M61 drop-in if you are going to go that route.
To be sure you aren't talking about the M952V right?

Yeah that's correct the 952 not the 952v. Looking around I found a m951 for $70 I'm considering purchasing.

$75 for a beater, $100.00 for a clean one, maybe a little more for new condition. The $200.00 ones are usually new in box with a full pack of filters and bulbs and crap that no one really needs but that a clone builder might want for their kit. Watch for member JohnM to post in the EE. He sells 95x/96x lights with custom led conversions that are pretty sweet. Also +1 on the malkoff led upgrade if you buy a regular incandescent 95x. If you are going to buy a malkoff drop in led then try to buy a 6v light (951/952) instead of a 9v light (961/962).

I paid $100 for a V recently.  I wouldn't pay over $50 or 60 simply because I'd pretty much guarantee Id put a malkoff in it.

I was researching this the last couple weeks on eBay. $60 seems right for a used one. Check "completed listings", look at ones that actually sold (green price). I ultimately opted for the M962 and M961. The M95(1 or 2) is around 60 lumens, the M96(1 or 2) is I think 120 lumens. I got 2 M962s used for around $80 and a M961 NEW in box for $101
It all started because I wanted a light that was real USGI for a Mk18 Mod0 block 1 clone, started bidding...... won 3 lights.

ETA: Just looked, M951s are selling for around $75, but one guy was selling them for $49 with FREE SHIPPING!. There are a lot fewer M952s. A lot of M952s were new in wrap and going for well over $100.
$75 is probably a good price if it is a good clean unit. Like I said though, I decide to get the M96X because it is a superior light and cost about the same. Also watch out for people calling them the wrong name. I saw M96x being sold for $50 as a M95x and about half of all of them get the last digit wrong (depends on wether it has thumb nut mount or QD throw lever mount). Know what you looking at!
ETA: The pressure pad/tape switch cost $20~ so keep that in mind when pricing it, wether it includes it or not.

I just purchased that m951 for $70 it included the IR filter, tape switch, and m93 quick release mount. Thanks for all the help I really appreciate it, I also am planning on getting an LED conversion for it.
