Magpul makes dedicated rail sections for the MOE carbine length and longer handguards. You will need to mount it at either 10 or 2 oclock in the holes provided. CAA makes/made a QD polymer light mount that folds up/down over about 100 degrees of traverse that will allow you to position a light to best fit your thumb. It works like a flip over magnifier mount. I did one of my ARs using that set up and it works great.

I use their cantilever MOE rail mount for my WMLx. With the setup pictured (you can't see the rail under the light) I grasp the vfg w/my fingers while my thumb rests either just above the light when I don't need it or on the light switch when I do need it.

Cantilever mount comes in the Magpul Illumination kit, I have also seen it sold separately from time to time.

+1 on the Magpul Cantilever mount. I am running this setup on mine, works great.

Thanks for the tip on the cantilever mount. I am picking up a WMLx to replace the TLR-1 on my main AR to free it back up for pistol use. I used a standard Magpul add-a-rail on my 870's MOE forend for a TLR-1, but wasn't sure what was best for the WML.
