I currently have my AR set up for HD with a carbine length Magpul handguard and illumination kit.

As I have been practicing, I have realized the 9:30 position isnt ideal for my style grip (My thumb is at the 11 or 1 oclock position) and is difficult to operate while trying to engage a target.

Does anyone have any suggestions for effectively mounting the pressure switch at the 11oclock, 1oclock, or maybe even 4:30 position?   I do have a VFG on the rifle, but only use it as a handstop, so mounting it there would not be an option for me.

Thanks
Dan

Why not get a flash light mount that puts the light at 11-ish o'clock and run just a regular tail switch?   Like this:

That is my preferred way to do it with carbine length handguards.  I also use a MOE VFG as a hand stop and this set up works great for me and for the wife.

Not a bad idea at all!  Plus it takes crap off my rifle instead of adding or modifying it.

Thanks
