Hey all,

I'm new to the world of AR's and I just finished my first build. When I went to install the Torch Backup light onto the rail section on my Midwest Industries ssg2 handguard the light was very loose on the rail. I ended up using an extra piece of rail that came with my magpul RVG. This tightened it up a little but the light can still move forward and backward on the rail. It seems to be the screw for the Torch backup light is too skinny and allows the light to slightly move forward and backwards within the groove on the rail. The light isn't going to fall off but it isn't as secure as my other accessories which went on securely without a problem. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about issues like this? It seems to me to be an issue with the MFT Torch backup light design or is there something I am missing?

Thanks!

Hey @blessedpatriotI had the same problem.  The product is not fit very well to standard picatinny rails.

I too a hex wrench can't remember what size but almost the smallest 1 or 2 to the smallest, and I cut it with a bolt cutter and snipped it.

I wouldn't use it. If it won't tighten properly and stay secure without mickey mousing a spacer to take up the slack it doesn't belong on my rifle. Not saying what the member above won't work, because it will but it makes me think " what other issues were not well thought out in the designing phase". I mean this isn't rocket science here. YMMV

Theoretically... But for what it does, it is fine and it weighs next to nothing... Once they perfect the spacing underneath, which I have written them lengthy letter about, it will continue to be good for what it is.  If one fits better by Surefire they will want 3x more money for a minor correction.  for $50, it is effective.  I spend a lot on my rifles, and a lot to outfit them but the typical brands everyone loves are not as innovative as they should be.
