I had one on my AR for while. It works fine, especially if you want to have one light for both your carbine and pistol
I ran mine with a Gear Sector mount so the switch was more ergonomically located

X300 works well, IMO for lightweight, bright, and method of activation, it can't be beat. I'm a big fan of the Streamight TLR1-S on pistols, but it can't be momentarly activated by pushing inward on the tail switch like the X300.

I've used the X series of lights since they were introduced for pistol and rifle. The X200A and X300 are both excellent lights for the Carbine for police patrol /swat. The X200 is dim compared to the X300 but still a very good light. I've heard there are two new X300s on the way from surefire. The new X300 is supposed to be rated at over 200 lumens and one special model at 500 lumens.

The X300 is an excellent light for the $ and can be had for under $200 now at most places online. |

I just put one on my Dissy today and I love it––i had a m300 in an offset setup before and just couldnt warm up to it.
This works great––it bright––has great throw, very low profiile, love the xt switch. And best of all it didnt make the rifle to front have as it distributes the weight out ove a longer surface. ![]() |
