Looking for something like the plano lockable case. Just curious which is the best. Want it to carry to and from the range and to be able to stow under my bed with a pad lock on it to keep little hands off of it since I don't have a gun case. I do have a safe that my pistols are in that will hold my AR mags and ammo. So it doesn't need to be a bomb proof case lol.

Budget? Best can be quite expensive.

Pelican is really nice.  And reallllly expensive.  It all depends on the level of protection you want and if you think that you're getting enough value for the $$$ you spend.

Good point! $50-$100. Want something that will hold up with trips to the range and such.

Go with the Plano(all weather?) but check around on pricing. Walmart is generally the cheapest but they'll pop up on Amazon and other places on clearance occasionally.

I would also suggest Plano all weather.

Same here. Best deal there is in a hard case, IMO.

+1 for Plano AW series. I don't like "pluck" foam, so I ordered some egg crate (1 1/2") roll foam and use that instead (as a filler) with my AW series cases.
I also saw some VERY nice cases at Cabela's last time I was there. Same cost as the AW series Plano, but slimmer and had metal latches. Better case IMHO, but I'm not in the market for another case. Might want to check those out as well, however.

I doubt you'll be disappointed. I picked up a few of the 36" version from Walmart a few years ago when they were on sale for $30.

I have been searching too. One thing that allot ask me is, do i want a travel case too.. Well, yes/no. I found these to be very good for travel and range etc.
SKB 3I-3614-6B-L iSeries. SKB takes good care of friends and their guitars, and the case meets many milspec requirements, which handles TSA and airlines pretty well.

Check out this system
at Home Depot.

This is the small case
but look at the larger
ones, and one has
wheels.

John

Edit to add: This case will
hold a broken down pistol,
but not a carbine upper.
Sorry. It's 20.25" x 11"
5" inside.

I got this one for my first AR, velcro straps hold gun very snug, and can add pistol, mags, etc. Not weather anything, but for the truck works for me.
