I just bought a Colt 6951. I'd like to use the same sling setup as on my 5.56 carbine which has a Magpul MS3 sling and an ASAP plate. I don't want to make any permanent changes to the lower like destaking the castle nut.

I've seen a few slip-on adapters. Which one is the best bang for the buck?

Tactical Link is one that I've used. Might be others out here.

The TangoDown PR-4 is another good option, but it can be on the pricier side.

Both the TangoDown and the aforementioned Tactical Link have been seen on .mil guns if that matters to you (it should give some indication of durability, though).

Note also that both will use QD swivels to connect your sling to the mount.

Midwest Industries has two versions that clamp on over the castle nut.very clean looking , one has a loop for the clip on slings, and the other takes a QD sling swivel. and both are in the $30-40 range.

Troy Industries Professional Grade Sling Adapter. I'm very pleased with it. It's not as bulky as it looks once on the rifle. Has limited rotation and it's ambidextrous if you want that ability.

I am running a Midwest Industries rear sling adapter and love it.  Very solid and very easy to install. It was around $35 or so.

There are 2 versions, the QD (mine) and a Loop version for running HK Hooks, etc.  The QD has attachments on both sides.

I'll post a pic when I get home.

Edit for Pics -

I'll second the Tactial Link Z360 mount. I have 4 of them, as well as the 1/2 point convertible slings.

Great gear.
