I have been looking for a bipod to throw on my 20". I have narrowed it down between the VLTOR modpod and the Tango Down Advanced combat bipod. Who has then, likes? Dislikes? Advantage one has over the other? I have enough harris' and want to go a different route this time. Both of them cost roughly the same. I want a wide stance, and something sturdy. Don't want anything to do with a vertical grip/ bipod combo.

thanks, Zac

I just bought a VLTOR Modpod for my brother's AR10. I think the main difference between the VLTOR and TD offerings is that the VLTOR is made up of two individual legs, that attach seperately to the 3 and 9 oclock rails on your handguard. This gives the weapon the capability of a lower stance overall. The TD is more traditional in that it is a complete (one piece) system that simply attaches to the lower rail or rail mount. Both offer QD capabilities and quality is excellent.

I bought GG&G's offering here: http://www.gggaz.com/gg-and-g-qd-standard-xds-bipod-sale.html

The lockup is really solid, looks great and doesn't weigh a ton. I bought it with the QD. My only gripe is that the plastic feet wear fairly quickly, but I shoot from fairly rough surfaces.

I use both the Atlas and the GG&G. I have to say that it is gonna be hard to beat either one. I personally use the Atlas on my precession bolt gun and the GG&G on my AR's.
