THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT http://www.themakogroup.com/product_p/agr43.htm It says it is a "better shooting angle" which I think means a reduced angle. I am looking for a reduced angle grip. Is this grip comfortable? Is the grip "fatter" than a normal/stock grip (I have bigger hands) Is this grip light? |

im assuming you mean the AG43, I have one on my rifle and love it, very comfortable in my hands (I wear large gloves and imagine you would enjoy the feel even if you wore larger) im not too sure about the weight, i imagine it's slightly heavier but its negligible really. the compartment with a door is a huge plus in my opinion, you do need a bullet or tool to open it but i dont mind that at all, i keep a lens cloth for my Aimpoint in mine. Fab Defense makes good products all around, the only issue is they're AR15/M4 gear is all based on the Colt design which leads to fitting issues with some products (I spent a good bit of time fitting my magwell grip to my Rock River lower). their stuff is tough as nails though, i also have a GL-Shock stock, and i would easily compare the polymer and build quality to Magpul (which i also own alot of

Glad you noticed that. I am waiting on mine as well. I think it will be pretty nice. It says 3-4 weeks lead time on their website.

[Last Edit: 7/26/2012 9:53:37 AM by TangledThorns]
I finally received the AGR43, below are some pics. The grip is larger than the standard A2 grip so not recommended for those with small hands. The rubberized grip does feel good. The storage compartment does open easily, no matter as I don't plan on keeping anything it. Last, the compartment flap gets in the way of the installation screw so be sure to have an extra long hex/screw driver handy.
Last, it took three weeks for Mako to deliver it. If I knew it'd take so long I wouldn't of cancelled that Zahal order so quickly. If you need the grip right away I suggest calling Mako to verify they have it in stock first.

The reason for the delay is because it was a new product and we were waiting to receive the first ones from Israel. They are in stock now and shipping quickly.
Do not order from Zahal.com if you are in the US, as it is not legal to do so, and we have been dealing with so many complaints of wrong products sent from them, products never sent, higher shipping charges than they promised, etc., that we will no longer offer warranty support on products shipped by Zahal. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_400/199191_WARNING_for_purchasers_of_our_products_from_certain_dealers.html
Instead, we ask that you order (or buy locally) from one of our many US dealers. Price will generally be less and you will be supporting American businesses.
I think you will find that they are comfortable for most shooters regardless of hand size. A lot of engineering went into this basic grip design (upon which all of our grips are based) to ensure it was universally comfortable, effective, and gives the best control when handling the weapon one-handed.
