Well I tried to find the suff today and struck out big time.  5 different places 2 Ace, Home Depot, Lowes and True Value.  Non of them had anything I needed.  So it's off to the WWW.

Went to 2 Aces, Walmart, Lowers, Autozone, and Michael's Crafts.  The 2nd Ace had 1" nylon web and 1" slide locks.

Guess I'll have to order the rest online.

Items at REI:

Hi Tex Corp Triglide - 1.5 Inch - Package of 4: $1.50

Hi Tex Corp Triglide - 1 Inch - Package of 4: $1.00

Hi Tex Corp Side Release Buckle - 1.5 Inch: $1.00

Nylon Webbing - Flat 1 1/2": $0.30 per foot

Nylon Webbing - Flat 1 Inch: $0.25 per foot

For what you need for this project, the total comes out to $7.65.  You can of course get a tape measure, lighter, and shears from anywhere.  There's also 2" nylon webbing and triglides, but that may be too wide - I don't know.

If you're not lucky to have an REI store nearby, shipping is $5.99.

No offense, but we have a member here that has been making these for us for a while. He even adjusted mine when I got my collapsible stock. Oh, his nick is Ghost-Shooter. Sorry I don't have any pics.

This is good stuff. Not to long ago a member here posted a thread on how to make a single point sling with stuff from WalMart for $2.75. It was so good I copied it and posted it on its own page.

You can go to most safety equipment supply houses to by webbing, slide adjusters, and buckles, everything you need to do this.

Good thread.

Needs to eventually be moved to the Build It Yourself how to section.

I just ordered enough material to complete 2 slings for $8.15! have
Spent $4.15 for 17' of 1.5" and 5' of 1" OD web from Strapworks plus $4 shipping = my total cost.

I ordered the sample buckles and sliders from Nexus for free.  14 items total, I should have ordered a whistle too because they will ship 15 items but did not see them until after I place my order. Overall very cool, thanks for the link.

I wonder if they will notice when there are a couple hundred sample orders for similar buckles?

i came up with a varoation on this one while i was in iraq, im not gonna get into mine, but lemme suggest that yall use tubular 1 inch webbing, it works alot better than the regular webbing.

its a lil harder to find, but tubular webbing doesnt cut into your body or snag on equipment quite as much.

Thanks for that tip! I do not have webbing yet, but the plastic is due to arrive anytime.
