Which, if you get an EOtech you'll need to send it back when it breaks in one of the many ways they do. Hell at this point, with how much I've shit it, I trust my Holosun more than any EOtech I've had. I doubt there will be much long range shooting going on. Sooner or later law and order will be restored and you might have to answer for your shots. Lot harder to justify a 3-x00 yard shot. Than a 50 yard shot. At least to some people. I vote anyone who steps on your property not waiving a white flag during a war is asking for a bullet. This post is in jest of course. Mostly.

Low-light identifcation will be key since these people wear black as their uniform. ATN sell Gen-2 scopes for less than $2k, if you're fine with using an IR illuminator then you could use a digital scope.

Buy an AP and a stock of 1/3 batteries.
After the flashbangs and ensuing house fire, it won't matter much.

Aimpoint with NVG settings for passive NVG use. PVS-14 and a D-BAL or PEQ-15 for IR laser. Nighttime is the best time.

It's not as bad as one would think, but it's not for the faint of heart I'll admit...thank God for VTAC padded slings. The recoil is soft as butter and allows for quick follow-ups.

LPV scope or red dot for use on a self defense rifle seriously doubt there are going to be open battles breaking out where you would be justified in using an AR other then a self defense situation.
now if we want to move into a shtf fantasy scenario where rule of law is not coming back and its literally us vs them and there are no consequences for a shot then Im going scoped rifle and staying at range. maybe get lucky and find a belt weapon abandoned some wheres
