I finally got a Sig Optics Tango4 1-4x24 and need some help on how to accurately measure the height over bore so I can get the free Sig ballistic turret (And, yes. They're still available for free online). I've got it mounted on an ADM scout mount on my old Colt Government Tactical A3. From what I've seen online, I'm just afraid I'm going to be eyeballing it and won't get an accurate measurement. Any suggestions on how to do it correctly?

Using this drawing I found on google and some math, it looks the distance from the bore centerline to the top of the receiver is 1.092"

Add that to whatever ADM says how tall your mount is. My Badger mount for example puts the optic centerline 1.4" above the rail. 1.092"+1.4"=2.492"

You don't need to be too precise by the way. Being a quarter inch off on your height over bore number only translates to about an inch difference in POI at 500 yards (if I remember right, been a while since I played with the calculator)

Thanks, sir. I went and found ADM's specs, and between both schematics and a little math, came up with 2.562." I hit it with the caliper using the eyeball method and it matches perfectly. Thanks again!

Quick question on the average temperature for this turret. I use this rifle year round. Average temp yearround here is 56 degrees. I can't say if this is a winter only rifle or summer only rifle. What's safe to put down? On their example, they list 45 degrees.
