Getting variable power scope. Probably 30 mm tube, 3-10.  Separate rings seem lighter and appropriate. Recommend mount(s) please. Thanks.

ETA - Will spend some $$$, but hoping for $100-150.

I have been using the Warne Tactical rings.. Especially on a 308 there is plenty of rail space to get the scope positioned where you want it..

the Burris PEPR (one piece mount) has gotten good reviews from what I have seen..

I decided on nightforce unimount at  5.6 ounces with a kahles scope for the scar 17.

Burris PEPR is fantastic. The weight difference is insignificant and is made up for with strength.

For your price range check out Aero mounts. Granite Outfitters has them in the $60 range.
