I had a extra Leupold Mark 2 mount that wasn't attached to anything. For now I have the scope mounted in it, and threw it on my 11.5" SBR. I'm still debating if I want to keep it on here or move it over to my CZ Bren. I'll probably end up putting it into an Aero mount. http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y393/TATBME/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsh0qlm9dk.jpeg http://i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y393/TATBME/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsyfv4b73m.jpeg View Quote Haven't seen grey Lancers... |

Anyone running this on a 300 Blackout? If so, how do the reticle subtensions line up with bullet drop for supers (I'm looking specifically at the 110 gr Barnes Vor-TX rounds)?

Where did you find this for $479?
Quoted:
My P4Xi with lever arrived a few days ago. This is my first 1x-4x on an AR. All my previous AR optics have been red dots or fixed magnification (T1/PROs and ACOG) I am replacing a 2MOA T1. I wanted a more "general purpose" setup that allowed use like a T1 at close range but also afforded me some additional data on targets at distance. I have this mounted in an Aero Extended. After having looked at PA 1-6, Strike Eagles, PST 1-4, Razor 1-6, Vx-6 … I would say the P4Xi checks every box on my initial criteria except the 6x. HOWEVER, after setting it up I am thinking a use of just 1x or 6x is too broad of a range for my purposes. The 1x-4x quick throw is easy to manage visually … it is like going quickly from a T1 to an ACOG and back. If there are any negatives at this point it would be weight as compared to a T1 or ACOG obviously. But it is comparable to other LPVs I was considering (and much less than some) and is built to last. I expect to be very happy. At $479 with the lever shipped it was an outstanding purchase. I will be ordering up another shortly. Adding: Not mine but I agree with the reviewer. I really dig my Steiner...but I like my T1 a lot more. What specifically? Weight? Simplicity? No eye relief? My optics experience is derived mostly from RDS-types, ACOGs, a borrowed Leupold Patrol, and a well used Weaver V3. So moving into the Steiner, I was surprised to find how much the weight of the optic and mount (ADM Scout) threw off the balance of my middy (comparatively). Also, I noticed a lot of shooters compliment the Steiner for having a forgiving eye box, but I don't find that to be the case (at 4x). More time behind it may change my mind, though. It's a good optic, and I will keep mine. But it will find a home on a 18in gun that I'm building for Camp Perry (gotta love the new rules lol). |

Well, I've ordered one. Now, I'll be needing a scope. Colt LE6920; and I shoot with my eye about 3 1/2 inches from rear sights. Considering Bobro std or extended; Larue LT104 or LT139. Or just getting Aero std or extended.
I'm not stupid with money, but wouldn't mind paying more for something that much better. QD is appealing, though it wouldn't be because I'm in a firefight of some sort with a broken scope (until and unless that bitch is elected). There are only about 1,000 of these threads, and all ultimately confuse my decision making. But this post is about me. So, there. But since this thread isn't about me, I'll post up some pics when I get it mounted. |

I did some additional research on the 50 vs the 100 yard zero and I think I'm going to try the 100 yard. I plan on deer hunting with this combo next month and it seems like you get less +/- from zero within 150 yards with the 100 yard vice 50 yard sight in. |

So has anyone had or heard of any bad experiences with these yet? I know they're newer to the market. Ive had mine to the range a few times, probably 100-150 rounds with no problem. Some off the bench and did some drills with it, zero issues (though I didn't really put it thru too much abuse).

German glass
Who knows where the rest of the components are made USA assembled Anybody ever get info from Steiner regarding erector assy, etc..... Any plastic guts on these? The "mushy" adjustment comments make me nervous, and I'm wondering if Steiner cut costs by using cheaper components in the turrets, erector assy, etc... Otherwise, I don't see how this scope would be so much cheaper than the old Steiner Military 1-4. Quoted:

Just mounted the Steiner P4Xi --- VERY impressed with the clarity of the glass as well as the nearly true 1x on the lowest setting. Thankfully bought on sale through Botach with the throw lever which is clearly needed. It's very hard to turn the magnification even with the throw lever so hoping this will lighten up over time.
PROS: German Schott Glass (Clarity is amazing, edge to edge) Illumination daylight visible, configurable for small target shooting as well as making large 4 MOA red dot for both eyes open 1x to mimic red dot Included scope throw lever makes adjusting the mag range possible while shooting offhand/standing (would be too stiff without lever) Reticle is clean/uncluttered CONS: Turrets are mushy, but if this is $1,000 less than tactical version I understand 'something has gotta give' (I plan to set my zero, cap the turrets, then forget them) Very impressed with this optic and I'm tempted to buy another one as I'm betting these will go up in price. For under $500 I'm thrilled but YMMV |

The T5xi is made in their Germany plant with top of the line components. Some would argue that if it doesn't say "Germany" on the side, it's not really a Steiner and that it's a Burris with Steiner glass and a Steiner label on it. Both Steiner and Burris are owned by Beretta.
The P4xi is a budget optic. From everything I've read, they used good glass and cheaped out on the guts. Something has to give to get the price of that optic down so low compared to the T5xi. Quoted:

You're right. The T5xi line is assembled in the US. And it's still got their Germany stamp on the side of that optic.
The turrets are certainly not the same. The P4xi is a budget scope compared to the T5xi line, and they definitely used cheaper components in the erector assy, turrets, etc... You can feel the difference handling the scopes. With them being sister companies owned by Beretta, my money is on Burris helping Steiner get the price down. Quoted:
