Just bought my first ar 10 I have owned plenty of ar15s. I can't figure out which scope I want it's a dpms style rifle 16inch barrel I have a vortex crossfire 2 just mocked up on it for now it's 3x9x40 I'm looking to spend about a grand and under for a new scope I was looking at the night force 3x10x42  maybe a vortex viper pst don't remember which size I was looking at but if you guys have any experience with that night force or vortex or even a Leupold or other higher end scope in my price range please post and let me know also will be using it to hunt hogs in my area anywhere from 100-400 yards just want a nice quality scope maybe shooting some paper

I run a 1x4, but mine is an elk gun. 16" DPMS too.   My shots can be pretty quick and close, in timber.  It does pretty well out to 250-300 on steel, but most of my shots are well under 100.   I don't need much mag, just a wide FOV.

Wait , is that like hog hunting?

See that 20" 308 on the right, it has a Leo 2x10 MRT and that Is a sweet piece of glass.  Should be, it was $$ with the arms qd mount.  That would be good choice for you.

I wouldn't go with that vortex. If you're going PST, get the viper 2.5-10x32. it's FFP, good glass, similar to the night force 2.5-10. I run that or a razor 1-6. Both do just fine shooting out to 600 yards.

The viper 2.5-10 is an awesome scope for the money, around 750ish.
