I've been told enough by most of you that you hate the gun, the optics choice, and you've tea-bagged my mother.  Thanks for the warm welcome.

The Rifle is a DPMS Gen II 7.62X51.  Optics are 4-16X50 Barska Gen II IR Scope with Red/Green Illuminated Mil-Dot ($149.95 on sale + S&H).  Laser was a killer deal I got for $29.95 with mounts, joiners, uniters, batteries (worth $20 alone), remote, and vert/hor adjusters on Geek mounted on a 45 degree rail offset.  It shoots spectacular ... laser and scope held up after 60rds no problem.  Maybe I could have got a better scope ... the laser was a steal though.  I'm happy, you all can hate.

How come when I post pics as direct links they show up as links but all other posted pics on this site show up as pics ... posting on this site is a PITA.  When I preview it looks great ... when i look at the thread it looks like my ass after taco night ... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

You wasted your money on that hideous scope and worthless laser when you could have gotten something more reliable in the budget range with a primary arms name. Also, what are uniters and joiners?

Not trying to burst your bubble, but it sounds like you are getting plenty of misinformation and maybe it could be corrected.  Both the laser and the scope are low quality.  The laser is probably in the realm of low airsoft quality, and the scope, you could do slightly worse, but technically it will probably at least be serviceable for you.  If you experience accuracy issues or some such, the scope would be the first thing you look at, and don't expect it to stay whole if you drop or abuse the gun.

Anyhow, whoever is telling you you got good deals is lying to you.  You payed at or above retail for very low quality stuff.  Scope here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/851521-REG/BARSKA_AC11670_SNIPER_GX2_4_16x50_GR_RD.html. And any number of other places have it for well under what you payed for it, just on the very first page of google results.

Laser here: http://m.aliexpress.com/item/32457707274.html  or any of a dozen "junk direct from China" sites. That is assuming your laser is a green model. If it is red, cut the price in half.

Whoever is telling you the batteries are $20 for your laser is on crack.  Batteries are $2 tops.

Nothing wrong with that rifle OP.

The optics and laser...... meh.

I would save your pennies and just run that optic until it breaks and then get something better. Definitely take a look at Primary Arms. They have some great optics of way better quality for just $100 more over what you paid for that scope. I think they even have a laser of their brand there that is pretty decent quality although I have never tried one myself.

Anyways nice rifle, hope you enjoy it and welcome to the form.
