ETA: okay, this is weird. One of the 512 has a black tag mfg date of Mar 2007 but the retail box is stamped inspected Feb 02 2007. Did they just inspect the empty cardboard box?

ETA #2: I had to go back and forth in emails with eotech. I had put down the recent msrp for all my 512's because I didn't have any receipts. They would only take the msrp for the most recent unit. For the others, we had to figure them out based on mfg year. For 2007, msrp was $399. For my 2005 unit, the retail box still had a sticker on it for $310. For my 2006, we just guessed $369. The 2013 was okay at $469. Hopefully this helps others trying to remember what they paid.

ETA #3: the $15 they refund for shipping wasn't enough for priority USPS. When I tacked on insurance for all five units, it was severely inadequate. Eotech seems to be streamlining the process without consideration for bulk returns so ironically the best route is to submit each unit individually for RAR even if it creates much more requests for them to track and process.

ETA #4: I received the check and it was for the full refund amount that we agreed in our email exchange. I already replaced these sights with three Aimpoint pros and a Trijicon RMR. In the future, if Eotech comes out with a new design that keeps the dot ring sight but in a more reliable package, I would give them a chance and try it out.

Submitted mine at 1:33pm yesterday 12/7 and got an approval email today 12/8 at 7:50am.
I went with current retail price of $499 and it's been approved along with $15 shipping.
XPS-2 manufacture date Jan 2013

ETA; I'm sending one of three that I own. I checked all 3 and only 1 is dim.
I let them know I will monitor the other 2 and they confirmed this.

Are people getting RMA numbers? I was just told to print the email and it contained no RMA number like before when I sent it in for repair.

I too find it odd people are still waiting for approval..
