Im looking for a fairly inexpensive  red dot for my first build and have narrowed it down to these  3
1 primary arms md
2 bushnell trs-25
Vortex strike fire
what are the  pros and cons of each and which one would you recommend  going with and why

I have a couple PA scopes and dots as well as the Vortex. I like PA, great quality for the price, designed and sold by AR guys.

I have a HoloSun which is the maker of Primary Arms and both company's work together closely. The model I have is HS403A micro dot. They are really water-proof too. I set mine under water for 30 minutes without problems.

I have Aimpoints, Eotech's and ACOG's , I came across this cheap red dot with Sig Sauer's name on the side. It is just a cheap China made sight so I wasn't expecting much, but I was curious. It has actually held zero after many, many rounds. I don't think it will handle much abuse, but for a range plinker it does it just fine.

As a budget red dot, my TRS-25 has held up very nicely. I've used it on my Tavor and it has held zero after 1500 rnds. I have two others as well. One on my AK and the other on a 22/45 MKIII pistol. All three work great and have stayed on target.

Another vote for the new PA MD-ADS
50k hour battery life
Great 2 MOA dot
Very durable/water proof
Maintains zero after removing and remounting
Have one on my 10.5" pistol - love it.

I've been using the Vortex Sparc ($160) on my AR15 for about a year now. Excellent red dot for the $$$. The Sparc 2 (199) is out now.
