THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT So the question is what do i buy first? (is it more frustrating to have the mount and no optic to play with or have the optic and no mount to strap it to?) yes i am that bored to ask this question |

buy the mount first, you might change your mind on the optics (budget, config, availability)

The scope first. More fun to play with than the mount.
Does your wife shoot? Maybe you should get her involved. Mine always enjoyed shooting, and after she finally picked out a AR for herself, outfitted it with an optic, and added furniture to her liking, it turned out to be the most expensive gun in the house. I bring up this fact whenever I want something and it keeps her from giving me any crud about what I want to buy. |

Mount first. They say the scope is fun to play with but there isn't much to play with. It,s hard to hold in your hand and look thru. The mount is an essential part that will probably stay on the gun forever. Scopes change. Also just a note, I bought a nice scope for myself and when me wife saw it, she took it. quote"I already had good scope, why did I need this one?" She was right and she has been very happy with her Mueller scope. Gave me the chance to buy something else later that fit the gun better. Scopes can be moved from gun to gun, but I never move scope mounts.
