So I have about $400 to spend on a red dot. Looking at the Aimpoint pro because of its rep. Is there anything else out there a little less that is just as solid. Most likely I will use this red dot till it disintegrates or I win the lotto so I'm looking for something rugged. And please so often I'm told just save up for something better but that honestly isn't an option unless I want to wait ALOT longer. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Look for a used Aimpoint on the EE and see if you can save a little bit of money. Otherwise, that's probably going to be your best deal on an Aimpoint and mount.
