THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT The box is of the newer type that the ACOGs have been coming in lately, but a little smaller. Upon opening the box, you have the SRS, and 1 Lithium AA Energized battery packed neatly inside. Under the foam, is your standard documentation, and Lens Pen. Upon inspecting the SRS, its of the same quality as you'd expect a Trijicon product. It does feel VERY solid, albeit, not TOO heavy. The Bobro QD mount affixed to the rail of my Sig 516 PDW securely, with no movement whatsoever. I'm so impressed by the Bobro mount, I intend on replacing my LaRue mounts with Bobro mounts. No adjustments needed, and no risk of gouging the hell out of your rail. It goes on easily, with one hand, and locks securely in place. As for the optic itself, I put the battery in, and pushed the + button, and it came to life. You have 10 settings total; 3 Nightvision, 6 varying levels of brightness, and 1 insanely super bright setting, which is the 10th setting. I put mine at setting 7. I then performed a test; I turned on a lamp on an end table in my living room, and took the battery out. The optic was still on. The Solar Cell on top of the SRS seems to be amazingly efficient at its job. I put the battery back in, and continued on. Upon mounting it on my rifle, I was impressed by how forgiving the "eye box" of this optic is. Its very quick to acquire the dot, and IMO, much quicker to acquire than the dot on my T1 Micro. You do pay a price for these advantages, however, as the SRS is much larger than a T1 Micro, and heavier. The SRS looks huge in photos, however, it isn't until you actually get one in your hand, that you realize it really isn't that big at all. Its about as big as an EOTech EXPS model. The glass is crystal clear, and the whole optic seems to be top-notch. I'm hoping to shoot with it this coming weekend. If I do, I'll post a report. *EDIT* Better Pics*
*WEAPON WAS UNLOADED, AND BOLT LOCKED TO REAR FOR THIS PIC*

I'm kind of wishing I would have ordered one of these when DSG Arms had 20% off Trijicon products a month ago

Must...resist.....buying....SRS.
Thanks for the write-up. I'm very, very intrigued by this optic. If I didn't have other projects in the queue, I'd just up and order one of these. |

The SRS looks great on your 7.5"!!! (I knew it would) I feel the same way about the optic as you do.. I think it is going to make the other red dot manufactures rethink there designs. That solor cell is amazing!

I'll get it zeroed in less than 10, and use the other 200 rounds for some steel destroying fun. ![]() |

Any chance you can put up a few point of view pics looking through the optic and just looking at it from shooters point of view? Im trying to get a sense of how it feels to settle in behind one said pics are non-existent.

For some reason, the dot looks HUGE in these photos.....its only a 1.75 MOA dot.

From the first time I saw it, I've been confused as to why the objective lens is larger than the ocular lens. Why don't they just make the rear lens the same diameter as the front lens, so as to maximize FOV?

I haven't handled one, but I think the idea is that looking through a cone shape would cause less obstruction than looking through a tube shape. Roll a piece of paper into a cone and look though it, then roll it into a tube and look through it. You will see what I mean. |
