I just received my new 6940 and I'm interested in a red dot. I've read the FAQ's and I'm leaning toward the Aimpoint Pro, ML3 or M3 on a La Rue mount. Not sure which La Rue Mount. I need to narrow it down and appreciate any suggestions....

I just got the pro, it's really nice. I'd look for an H1 however. The weight savings is awesome.

I'm going to continue to whore out the Aimpoint Micro series just because there is nothing better.

The Pro is a great alternative if you don't want to deal out the cash for a Micro.

ETA: If you go with any of the non-Micro models, the Larue Cantilever mount is better to use with a magnifier.

If I wanted a 2 MOA, I personally would look for a used aimpoint in the equipment exchange.

If you want to keep the rifle really light, micro

Want to save some bucks used M2, M3 or Pro.

Some people prefer the micros, some prefer the larger tube of the Pro and M series. I would try to look down both on a rifle if you can to see which feels better to you.

I've never looked trough a red dot sight. I would think I would like the larger tube of the M3 or Pro...??? I wish I could see them in person.

Any half-way decent gun shop should stock them.

I'll call around and see if I can find some in stock somewhere.

If I went with the H-1, which mount should I get? A LaRue what?

A LaRue cantilever mount. It angles the optic out front, to use with a magnifier behind it. You don't need a cantilever mount though, because your top rail is monolithic and continuous. You don't have the same space concerns that those with just the receiver rails would.

Ok. So the LaRue Tactical High Mount should be what I need. I can get both on Amazon for $698 and I have $500 in credit card rewards, so $200 out of pocket.....not bad...

Thanks for the help!!!!!

I bought a T-1 in the LT660 mount from LT. Its the tall mount for the mirco that allows 1/3 lower cowitness. I paid 652 shipped to my door.

I see that there's 2MOA & 4MOA H1's. Is there one that's prefered?

No one in my area has one in stock that I can find so I guess I'm just going to order one. Don't think I need the T1.

I have an H-1 that I love. Just picked up a Larue LT751 that I'm gonna mount on my 6940. Looks like it's gonna be a perfect setup.

I like that mount more than the others I've seen. Less veiw blockage under the site...thanks. Now all I have to do is figure out is if I should go with the 2 or 4 MOA.

Post a pic when you get it set up.

I personally prefer the 2moa. If you want the dot to look bigger for close range shooting you can always turn up the brightness. That will make the dot look bigger.

You cannot turn a 4moa dot down to appear the size of a 2 MOA dot when you want to shoot at longer ranges or smaller objects.
