lower 1/3, there is nothing to line up. With the 403A, as with the 503C, you can still see the open sights through the red dot. It's not like you are trying to line up the dot with the sights. I have the 403A.
Just FYI, the battery on the bottom doesn't affect the height of the mount, it simply takes a different bolt pattern for that particular mount to fit the bottom of the red dot than it does for those with the battery on the side. |

Thanks, yeah I may not have explained it well, if you took a "battery under" model and mounted it on a typical aftermarket lower 1/3 mount, ie LT660, because of the extra height in the body of the optic caused by the battery underneath, it's actually higher than it should be compared to say the 403. so winds up being "lower 1/8" or similar lol. For a true co-witness mount, it pushes the optic up similarly so you can't get true Co-Witness using an aftermarket mount. If you are using the Stock Holosun mounts it's not an issue as they have the discrepancy figured in. Or at least that was the complaint I read - I have not actually tried one. But sounds like a non-issue with the newer model. |
